Q and A with Halio Ambassador Joshica Battle

  1. Let's start with the basics. Tell us your name and where you're from? Where do you currently live? Tell us the top three best things about it! Lastly, if you could live anywhere, where would it be and why?

Hey guys im Joshica, I go by Joss, JB, Battle whichever is easiest for people and im originally from Columbus, Georgia. I currently live in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The best things about living here is im only minutes away from the beach, its chill vibes everyday and I get to visit the cool historic places that we have here! If i could live anywhere, i would say either Colorado Springs, Colorado or Seattle Washington, I lived in both places before and they are absolutely gorgeous in their own ways.

You are currently in the Army National Guard! What would you say is the best thing you have taken away from serving your country? What would you tell to a young woman unsure about joining the military? Do you feel like the military has changed you in any way, good or bad?

I am currently serving! 6 years strong but the best thing i have taken away from serving my country, is the willingness to learn other peoples perspective and learn more discipline and enjoy being part of a team.  To the woman who are unsure, MAKE SURE YOU ARE SURE! Don't just join a certain branch because your family joined, that branch may not fit your needs and then you are stuck and sad and loose motivation. Make sure this is what you want to do and if it is then you don't let anything stop you from joining! The military has changed in good and bad ways. The good ways are i have more discipline then i did before i joined and I have learned to be confident in myself and my abilities, the only bad is now i cuss like a sailor haha

  • If you had to describe yourself in three words, what would they be and why? Do you believe that you portray these things to people around you and to the people on social media?

    1. CONFIDENT : It took me awhile to get confident but now that i am i don't want to ever loose it.

    2. ENCOURAGING: I want women and men who don't feel like they fit the cookie cutter mold of instagram fitness to know that its okay and to be themselves

    3. COMPASSIONATE: I love to listen to people tell me about whats going on in their head and just be there for them.

    4. I do feel like i portray these things because some days i will wake up and be down on myself but then ill remember, hey so and so said you look joss, thanks for pumping me up today and they will just my tone for the rest day, like yes i got this !

    1. You are a mom to a gorgeous little girl! Who is the most important lesson you hope to teach her? What's your favorite part about being a mom, and what's one piece of advice you have for a mom-to-be?

Oh yes my little red headed, blue eyed princess who is very bossy for a 2 year old! I want to teach her that first of all she is a QUEEN and no one can take that title from her. She is beautiful and confident and no ones opinions can rock her BUT at the same time i want her to be humble and know that respect goes a long way. My favorite part is that now im not just trying to be better for me... im trying to be better for her, shes my whole entire world, it revolves around her! MOM-TO-BE advice, its okay to take advice doesnt mean its gonna work for you or your little one, do what makes you comfortable and your life easy!

    1. What keeps you positive and on fire for life? What brings you the most passion? If you had to choose one thing to focus on for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Knowing that everyday is another day to be better and help somone out. Besides my daughter, making sure i help people who deal with mental illness. Ive struggled and still struggle with it so i want to make sure that people are being heard. I want to focus on raising my daughter and my mental and emotional health.
